OK, so here's the first one. Still needs some more lacquer, but its looking alright.
Don't know if this is going to be the final shape, some testing needs to be done, then maybe final tweaking. Or i might have got it bang on the first time. Testing will tell.
Nice Wenge Kerryesc cruiser. 32mm. Doesn't have the pointed nose like Kerry's one. I might put this one in a new team members sponsor package ;)
A 32.5mm template Ive been working on today. This will shape the new 'sausage fingers' decks. Don't know if im feeling the shape yet though...Ill sleep on it...See what its saying tomorrow.
Making a perfect master template is challenging work.
No its not an Ice Cream factory. New colors dying nicely. Yellow & Greenish Blue. Lots more colors dying also.
Vital tool of the trade. Disk/belt sander.
So today i got the first steps of 32.5mm ready. Its a width i will be able to produce in the future...Although i think sticking with 32mm would be for the best.
Next step for me is to sort out a workable template with dimensions i like. (Kick lengths/ roundness). Then translate to the blanks.
here's a picture of the Blosom 32.5mm side profile (Fine sanding not included).
To finish today's post here's some of the batch ready for lacquer
Thank You goodnight for now!
OK, so its nothing exciting, but today i managed to put together this bench inside my house...Its actually inside my bathroom. (well...The room has a toilet & a sink).
Before today, all deck making had to be done outside, and nobody wants to work in a cold shed.
There is still a huge amount of work that needs to be done here. I have all sorts of stuff to go in here, i could do with another 2 workbenches. But i dont have the room for those.
Hardcore sanding is still done in the shed or outside.
For me this is a new chapter where i can be over 50% more productive than i have been. Having this arrangement inside the house is a godsend. Being that I'm in the UK. Although the weather is nice now, more than half the year is not.
Here's to being more productive!
(Trade secrets kept out of view) ;)
3 totally amazing riders.
Kerry W, Harry Y, and Billy M decided to do a montage together -
Mellow vibes, 3 fingerboarders, 3 angles, and 8 tricks each. Hope you like it!
Song is Windowpane by Opeth.
It may only be 5 sanded decks, with nice clean rounded edges, but the main thing is progression.
Im glad to be back
OK so i know its an old vid...Christmas time in fact. But it just goes to show that there are people who care and support to the max. I thank you Kerry & Billy! You guys are awesome.
I just want to say a huge sorry to all the people who have messaged me either here, FBHQ and FFI while i was unavailable. I will gradually get through most of the messages and get back to you. If i dont get at you, just send me a new message.
A new stock will be available soon. I am working through the decks getting them ready. For Info on when they are ready the best place is here/Unite.
Ive got so much to catch up with, and get back to where i left the company. There was so much new stuff i was working on, so fingers crossed i can get some of the new stuff into fruition.
Also im pressing some new testers for 32mm wide decks. I know Kerry would like, NEED one.
Here is some progress on part of the batch. Fine sanding needs to be done on these, fingers crossed i can have them done by next weekend. Or even sooner :)
Once again a big sorry for being away. If i could have been in 3 places at once i would have.
Please guys, can you not ask if i can sponsor you. I always have my eyes open for new members i believe would be right for the team. Team members are chosen at discretion with help from the team. No amount of pestering will help your chances. In fact it diminishes them.
The person that doesn't ask is the smart person. Straight away that gives a lot of insight into what sort of a person they are.
Thanking You for now...
